handpick’d is responsible for your information. For any question about it, or to use any of your rights below, email info@handpickd.nl.

If you book a designer:

• your email address, to sign you in and keep you up to date
• your answers to our questions about the room
• photos of the room and its measurements, and any notes you add
• your comments on the design, what you tick as bought, and any review you leave
• whether and how you paid, and when. Your card or bank details go to Stripe, not to us
• the moment you agreed at checkout that work may start straight away

If you apply or work as a designer:

• what you send in your application: name, email address, portfolio and Instagram links, your training, and a few words about your work
• your profile: the name customers see, your short and long bio, your styles and the rooms and budgets you take on
• your legal name, postal address, KvK number and VAT details, for the invoices we make on your behalf
• the photos in your portfolio. Once we approve them, they can be opened by anyone with the link
• your payouts. Stripe collects your identity and bank details directly

If you join the waiting list: your email address.

• To run your project and pay your designer. This is what our agreement with you needs.
• To keep our financial records. Dutch law requires this.
• To keep the service safe and to see where people get stuck in the questions, using our own records. This is in our legitimate interest, and it never involves selling or sharing your information.
• To email you when bookings open, if you joined the waiting list. You can ask us to stop at any time.

We introduce a designer using simple rules we set ourselves: shared styles, the kind of room, your budget and how busy each designer is. It is a suggestion. You choose whether to book, and you can ask to see someone else.

Your designer sees your answers, your photos and your measurements, and only once you have paid. Your designer never sees your payment details.

We use a small number of companies to run the website. They handle your information only on our instructions:

• Supabase: our database and file storage, where your answers and photos are kept
• Vercel: hosts the website, and counts visits without cookies
• Stripe: takes payments and pays designers
• Resend: sends our emails
• Anthropic: identifies the furniture already standing in your room photos, so your designer can plan around it
• Replicate: builds a 3D model of your room from your photos, for your designer to work in
• fal: makes the two pictures of your room with the new pieces in them, and outlines the furniture in your photos

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Some of these companies are based in the United States, so your information may be handled there. Where it leaves the EU, we rely on the safeguards the GDPR allows, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

• Room photos, measurements and answers: 12 months after your project is finished, then we delete them.
• Payment and invoice records: 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires it.
• Your account: until you ask us to delete it.
• The waiting list: until bookings open and we have told you, or until you ask us to remove you.

We use one kind of cookie: the one that keeps you signed in. It is needed for the website to work, so we do not ask first. We count visits without cookies, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies.

You can ask us to:

• show you the information we hold about you, or send you a copy
• correct it
• delete it, except what the law requires us to keep
• stop using it for a purpose you object to, or limit how we use it

If you think we have handled your information wrongly, tell us first and we will put it right. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

If we change how we use your information, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects a project you have with us, we email you first.
